I’m a self-taught programmer and data scientist with a passion for creating data-driven solutions that drive social impact. I focus on building innovative, user-friendly web applications and exploring various models to transform insights into practical, engaging solutions for real-world challenges.

1\ Movie Trailer Finder

This is a React.js web application that integrates with TheMovieDB API to provide users with access to movie and TV show trailers, along with detailed metadata. Users can search and filter through a dynamic database of films. The platform also supports user authentication, allowing sign-in with a username and password. Once logged in, users can save, update, or remove favorites, with their preferences stored securely in a user-specific profile.

2\ Unemployment Rate in China

This project consists of two main components: a research paper analyzing the unemployment rate and public policy in China, and an interactive HTML map visualizing provincial-level unemployment data for 2021. The research paper explores key trends, factors influencing unemployment, and the impact of government policies on employment across various regions. The interactive map allows users to explore detailed unemployment statistics by province, providing an engaging way to understand regional disparities and the broader economic landscape of China during 2021.

3\ Paid Family Leave in NYC

This is a data visualization and policy evaluation project analyzing the impact of New York’s 2016 Paid Family Leave (PFL) policy on female full-time labor force participation. Using data from the Current Population Survey (2010–2019), this project applies a Difference-in-Differences model to estimate the causal effects of PFL by comparing New York to control states without similar policies.

4\ Justice or Oversight? A Study of Gender-Motivated Violence and Domestic Abuse Data

This project includes a research paper published in the Johns Hopkins Undergraduate Law Review about Supreme Court Decisions on Gender-Motivated Violence and a creative data visualization project focused on Intimate Partner Violence and Domestic Violence data in New York City.

5\ Top Keyword Finder

This is a Top Keyword Finder web application that uses the TF-IDF algorithm to analyze the importance of words in a given text. Users can paste text into a text area, and the app will display the top keywords with their TF, IDF, and TF-IDF values. It filters out common stopwords to highlight significant terms. The results are shown in a clear, user-friendly format, making it a useful tool for extracting key terms from text for analysis or research.

6\ Risk Analysis: Credit Card Fraud Detection

This study applies logistic regression, random forest, and SVM to detect fraud in a PCA-processed dataset of over 284,000 transactions. Logistic regression outperforms with high accuracy and stability, while stratified analyses by time and amount validate its reliability. Advanced techniques like Genetic Algorithms are recommended for further enhancement.

7\ The Solow Model Calculator

This project features a Python-based Solow Model Calculator with a user-friendly HTML interface, allowing users to calculate steady-state economic indicators such as "capital per effective labor" and "output per effective labor." The tool integrates real-world data like GDP, population, and savings rates, enabling dynamic macroeconomic analyses. Accompanied by a research paper analyzing eight countries (2010–2019), the project demonstrates how key economic parameters influence long-term growth and provides insights into global economic trends.

8\ Weather Search App

This is a modern web application built with JavaScript frameworks that fetches real-time weather data from an external weather API. Users can search for any location to view detailed weather information, including temperature, humidity level, wind speed, and "feels like" temperature. The app offers a responsive interface, ensuring a smooth user experience across devices. It also supports modular development and optimized deployment using tools like vite, with a robust architecture for scalability and performance.
